Fished 6-O on Sunday from 1 until 6 (got driven off by a thunderstorm….). Hadn’t been out there in a while, but lake looks in great shape. About full, as usual 6’ visibility. Given the recent rain, a lot of the weeds around the edge are submerged with about a 6’ gap to the bank – caught a lot of fish in that gap. Weather was good early on, partly cloudy with a nice breeze- water temp already up to 80 degf. Caugh a lot of small fish – lost count at 30 with only a couple getting up to 2lb. Caught them all on slowly retrieved swim bait, senko into the margins or a wacky worm pitched into the timber. Tried several of the deep holes and inside the old dam with a TX rig, but nothing larger. This is a great place to fish from a kayak – easy to launch and lots to explore. Around 5 pm it started to cook up a storm – by 6 the lightning was getting a bit too close. Didn’t want to be out on the water holding a carbon fibre lightning counductor….. Packed up just as the rain started sheeting down. Really peaceful afternoon outside and a lot of fun
