First, thank you to the landowner who has taken great care of this property: nice maintained roads and paths, mowed fields, nice dock, and nice rock launching ramp. Started the morning trying for a top water bite, could not find one. The nice vegetation around the edges did not seem to be holding fish that morning. Started picking up some nice fish on finesse spinner baits. As there is not much to get snagged on, switched to underspins with 4 inch easy shiners and immediately started getting hit aggressively with our best bite of the day. These fish are strong and hit hard. The underspin bite continued for the rest of the day. We got several on deep diving crank baits, but nothing consistent. The fish seem to be constantly roaming, following the small shad around the open and deeper parts of the lake. Great fishing experience and got to use underspins with exposed hooks more than I ever have.
