I fished Blackbird with my 20 year old daughter. We got there around 730 am, not as early as we wanted. The lake is bigger than the other two on this property, and one side has lily pads along most of the bank. I had a couple of blow ups on the frog, but no takers. My daughter got some on the plopper. I did get them on spinnerbaits through the lily pads. There is a lot of timber in the middle of the lake, and we got some on T Rigged 10” worms and some on Senkos. We broke for lunch and did some fly fishing for bluegill from the very nice and spacious dock, and there were lots of takers, and my daughter even got a catfish on the fly! It was a hot day, 94-95 degrees, and the bass were stacked under the dock. We were dropping 10” worms along the edge of the dock, and probably got 8 or so up to 3 ½ pounds. Honestly, that was some of the best fishing of the day, right under the dock! We also fished the dam, which was pretty weedy, but in every area free of weeds, we caught bass on worms. Winfred, the landowner, made it a point to come speak with us, and as always, he was incredibly hospitable. Near dark, my daughter was fishing the plopper in open water, and a 7-8 pound bass hit about 3 feet from the boat. Unfortunately, she never had a chance with that one. It was a good day, and I will be back for sure.
