I fished AA with my 20 year old daughter on Memorial Day. It rained in the morning, so we didn’t get on the water until 1000 am. From other reports, I gather that this lake get pretty windy, but we must have gotten lucky. It was overcast all day, with light to no wind. No takers on the frog. The best fish were taken on Chatterbaits around the weed edge, which extended 20-50 feet from the bank. It seemed like every fish I caught hit as I was dragging the chatterbait through the submerged weeds along the weedline. My daughter got several on Senkos. It was calm enough at times that we could see the bass busting schools of shad on the surface, and we got several on Whopper Ploppers above the activity, and my daughter got one with a deeper diving squarebill under the activity. My daughter got a little frustrated as she really doesn’t have the experience in the weeds, but she did catch several on Senkos, the Plopper, and Squarebill. Overall, I had a really good day. We spoke with Joe, the landowner, and he made it a point to come talk with us while we were eating lunch, and gave us the lay of the lake. Good times, and I will definitely return!
