We arrived at Tara just after the all night severe storms and flash floods
Owner Said The Area got 3+ inches in the past few hours.
A.M. Temp 68* P.M. 76*
Cloudy Most Of Day
Wind 0 to 10mph
Light Rain Briefly then dry throughout the day
Water clearity Good after all that rain 1 Ft approx
Lake Level Fluxuating but still going over drain.
Arrived not knowing what to expect, but the lake looked pretty good
the ramp was a bit muddy but we managed.
The day turned out to be beautiful, low temps light wind and cloud cover. you couldn’t
ask for a better day in late May.
However the Bass seemed to take the Memorial Holiday off also
no real pattern to the bite, could be a big reason that while we were there we witnessed Tara Rise slowly about 3 inches
and then drop slowly throughout the day.
the lake is still above normal wich should help with the summer fixing to set in.
needless to to say the fishing wasn’t helped by that, Sporadic rough day with lots of gaps between fish.
John managed to boat a couple of healty 2.14 & 2.9 fish, My biggest was a 3.2 and multiple Mini Dinks
Both of us managed to loose a good fish at the side of the boat.
Still it was a great way to spend the Memorial day weekend , probably the last low temps we’ll see for awhile.
Take Care Ya”ll & Tight Lines.
