Third visit to Long. Past experience had me expecting low volume but good quality. I was on the water at 645AM and stuck with it for ten hours. The water very clear and blueish-green. The water level is high and didn't feel overly warm but without electronics I can't share the temperature. There is some algae and grass in a few spots on the perimeter, but those areas are minimal. The water is so clear you can see the rapid drops on the banks and the structure along the banks as deep as 5’. Anyway, neither this knowledge or my unloading my tackle box could help me on this warm & windy day. I had two bites and landed one of those—a 2 lb’er on a lipless crankbait that hit in maybe 15’ of water off the west side. I worked up & down the water column trying different lures, riggings, colors, retrieve rates, etc. I even tried the 6th Sense Panoramas. I've never had any luck with any size or color of those regardless of rigging or technique. All of this probably says something about my skill level.
