We fished Acker Lake in the PM on Saturday – Cody Ranch is a beautiful property!

The bite was slow to begin, but once we keyed in on a few spots on the southern end of the lake it was on!

The majority of the fish caught were 2-3 pounds and very healthy. Only one true ‘dink’ was caught, other than that the cull fish went to the measuring stick because they were all close (12-13 inches).

We decided to explore the north end later in the afternoon and wove our way through the trees. We got back to the top 3rd of the lake, but it was very shallow and grassy. We hung the boat up on stumps twice and had to get creative to get free (Be cautious if taking a bigger boat up there). We caught a couple in the north stump zone but turned back south to finish the evening.

Around 6:30 the frog bite kicked off and we were able to catch them on top. We had a blast, with our big bass (5.45) coming in this stretch and they bit all the way until dark.

Good stuff, men! Such an excellent lake. And gutsy to try to get in the north end with all those weeds. Winter and most of the spring, there is a lot of good fishing to be had up in the north end
