I fished this property on Nov 3 from 8:30 - 2:30. I got a late start due to heavy fog. I read the recent report from Marshall and tried frogs and buzz baits, but just got several short strikes I switched to a black/chrome Zara spook and caught 10 on it. Also tried a white shallow crank and caught 8. Most were around 2lbs. I continued using shallow/medium cranks in white/pearl and a silver rattle trap the rest of the time and caught a total of 38. Only a couple were dinks. A big storm hit around 2:30 with small hail.

Conditions:

Weather was clear until around 10. Wind was also calm until that time. Water temp was 67 with a little stain.

I caught most on the outside edge. I have not fished here for sometime, but it was not matted at the surface like when I was here previously.

The vegetation should be dying back this time of year. We added 60 grass carp in June. The vegetation should be well in hand for next summer.

Fished here the following day 11/4. Very muddy getting to lake from recent rain.  Water was very low making bank fishing a muddy mess.  Fished a couple hrs with my kids. Caught just a few 2#er’s.  grass was very heavy and matted at the surface on 1/3 of the lake.  Planning to go back when I can be a bit more prepared and serious.  Was a good time with the kids though.  little to zero cover around lake, stumps and structure out in middle.

I did have some trouble trying to get my 4-Runner out last week.  Next time I will not park solo close to the bank.

If you do not use the boat, it is hard to avoid the grass.  Get to the outside edge of the grass and just keep circling the water and you should be able to have success.
