Fellow member Gary Whisenhunt and I fished Twin Oaks Friday morning before Memorial Weekend. Bright sun, warm temps, and wind ~ 15mph. We fished for about 4 hours and caught 30 fish. The 7 we culled weren’t really dinks, but were under 14 inches. The rest were nice fish, almost all between 2 & 3 lbs, the largest 2.9 lbs. We caught fish all over the lake, but especially in the very middle, where there appears to be some structure where they congregate. This area is halfway between the parking spot and the cove/inlet across the lake. We caught at least half of our fish here. It works out that it’s pretty weedless in the middle. Fishing the perimeter is tough because of the weeds, but possible. The winning lure was a California color Berkely Pit Boss, Texas rigged. We caught well over half of our fish with this bait, but a good number with a red shad Yum Dinger, both Texas rigged and wacky rigged. Also caught a few with a white chatter bait. Tried a frog and crankbait with no luck.
