My son Jack and I fished Triple J on Saturday, October 20, and managed to have a fun day in spite of very high winds. Fishing from 2:30 PM to 7:00 Pm, we boated 20 fish - 18 Bass and 2 Crappie. One of the crappie was a 16” fish! The bass we caught were mostly nice fish in the 2-3 pound range with several larger. Biggest we weighed was 4.1#. Virtually all the fish came in 4 - 8 feet of water on crank baits: square bills & trap baits, with a couple on plastics. Due to the wind, we used the trolling motor to move around but anchored and fan-casted around the lake, catching most fish on the outside edge of the sparse moss growth. All in all, a great day to be on the lake with my favorite fishing partner!
