Nice day to bank fish (Friday 5/9). Landed 0 on upper—second straight shutout there after solid first visit. Landed 4 each on mid and lower. I stalked a couple large looking bass I saw in the cove of the middle lake for over an hour. I could not get them to bite. It was disheartening to watch just how apathetic they were to my attempts to draw their interest. Recent rains have made the grass around ponds much longer than my recent visits and it was also more wet around ponds, especially upper. I was a paranoid of snakes but didn't see any. I did see odd 6"-12” wide "chutes” in grass boardering the upper lake only (see photos)...are these created by otters or ??? Spoke to property manager on drive out as he was heading out to catch-up on mowing. I thanked him for that and commended him on the general upkeep of the land.
