Really got to love just how accessible these lakes are.  Made a same day reservation at 8am and first fish before 10:30.  It was a great day to be outside – and a perfect excuse for a little mindfulness. 

Was able to fish for a few hours on Saturday so tried to cover as much water as possible. Caught 24, only 1 cull and 1 nice crappie. A handful hovered around the 4 pound mark, +/- a couple ounces. All the bass looked great, well fed, really healthy and mean as can be. Nothing magical about my technique, just threw a variety of crank baits covering the water column and slowed down with a TRIG around structure.  Towards the end, my “bite-to-boat ratio” was really low and maybe 3 to 1, and I blame it on weak hook sets and shy bass.  Also hung out with Mr. Joe for a bit, always a good time.
