Reservation Number : 43372
Property Name : Pecan Gap
Reservation Date : 05/02/2025 PM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 10 fish - 2-3 lbs
Lures Used : flukes

Brother and I fished the afternoon & evening, spent the first 3-4 hours fishing in a light rain with little luck.  Weather broke mid-afternoon, started catching fish throwing dark flukes up against the shores closest to deep water.  Once the sun came out, fish held close to cover and bites came on the flukes pulled past submerged timber and edges of shallow weed beds.  Tough to fisn cranks and spinner baits with all the submerged weeds.  Fish were healthy, though, and great fighters, though a bit skinny – post-spawn?

Water color was extremely stained from the recent rains and home construction going on adjacent to the pond.  Water temp 70 degrees and running over the spillway.  Should fish better once the weather settles & water clears up a bit.  Met the owner and he helped us to spot a decent path down to the water – it was pretty soft and muddy.

Beautiful property & so much potential, looking forward to coming back again.

That was close to the pattern I had last Tuesday. Light sprinkles to start, then cloudy, then sunny. Wished it stayed cloudy n sprinkles. Those big ones know of the noise of the construction I am sure
