Fellow PWF member Larry Blanchard joined me as we spent the day on Grain Bin Lake. as those who have fished this lake before know, there is an awful lot of moss along the edges. one must just deal with it. For most of the day the wind was manageable, and we were able to pick a few off the bank. Our largest was a 4 1/2 pound caught on a Texas rig Bellow Gill. First time fishing that bait and it proved to be successful. Also caught a 4 lbs. 2 oz. bass on the same rigging. The day started off around 58 and ended close to 80. The water temps are between 70 and 72. Bluebird skies for the most part with mainly mild breezes. we started around 8:30 and the wind drove us away around 3:30 when gusts of up to 20 or more began.  The fish were very healthy and aggressive when they hit our baits.  in the afternoon a weightless Texas rig senko was very successful. Our colors were green, pumpkin, dipped with chartreuse along with black and blue. We tried a few other techniques and colors and did not have any success.  Unfortunately we also spotted one of those otters that seems to frequently show up at some of these lakes. I hope they do not damage the fish population, but they certainly can be a problem. It is always fun to fish with my friend and today was no exception. We will try to fish this lake again in the future I am sure. thanks to the property owner for providing us with a good lake that is always fun and challenging.
