I took my friend John out for a day of fishing at Trinity Lakes, and we had a beautiful day. Arrived just before sunrise and fished till around 4pm. Sunny bluebird skies and temps were from high 50’s to mid-80’s, and water temps were 62 to 68 throughout the day. Lake was full and water was murky/muddy with maybe 12 inches of vizibility. Banks were lined with the dark green thick moss out to about 10 feet. Fished Arrowhead lake from my Bass Raider and Goose Lake from the bank. John spent most of his time on Goose fishing a weightless green pumpkin senko, and he caught 14 of his 15 bass that way along with 4 giant bluegill. All 15 of my landed fish (including a giant crappie) came either on a spinnerbait or a wacky rigged stick bait. We both lost quite a few as is usual, and the action was pretty slow in the morning and the mid afternoon, but we had a good time. There were many balls of fry on both lakes, so the spawn is in full swing. Also saw a lot of beds and caught several fish around them. The water was murky enough where you could just see the white spots, but not necessarily if there were fish on them all the time. Fish sizes ranged from a few dinks up to just over 3lbs. Most were in the 1.5-2.5lb range and put up a good fight. The landowner stopped by to say hi, and we thank him and PWF for the nice property to fish. Techniques tried that did not produce: Tx rig, small underspin, frog.
