Met up with John Egan at dawn and tried topwaters from the bank on Golden Pond and Lake Raymond with plenty of swipes but no takers. Loaded up the boat on Raymond at sunrise and fished the perimeter with a lot of action (24 bass and 2 bluegils) but no bass of significant size (dinks to 17”) with most below 14” (culled 16 and returned the 2 bluegills).

We beached the boat at 10am and headed down to bank fish GP and The Big Lake for the last 2 hours. John caught 7 out of the SE corner of GP including a 17.5” (we culled 4). I moved to fish the south bank of the Big Lake and caught 7 including a 19.5” and culled 6. 

We were hoping for some big bass seemed to only be able locate young bucks parked within 5 ft of the bank. Water temp was 76F and perhaps the spawn is over at this ranch. None the less these caught fought above their weight class and we each landed close to 20 bass. A pleasent morning indeed!
