I expect “slay days” at Triple B or maybe Flying J, but these were bigger fighters. Fishing partner John caught fish on 3 straight casts. Despite the numbers, we only doubled twice.

Caught one on a spinner bait at the boat ramp before launching. Tried frogs for 15-20 minutes, switched to wacky rigs and caught 86 on the first lap of the lake, mostly between the bank and grassline on the bottom fishing slowly (3-5 ft deep) and among the lily pad reeds that haven't grown leaves yet. Stopped for lunch. After lunch, picked our spots out of the wind and caught 34 more. Left at 2 with bass thumb and a happy heart and got out of the wind.
