Misty rain and light winds in the morning – lots of topwater action – poppers & whopper-floppers – for the first hour around the points and submerged weed beds.  Nothing on the north banks/shores all day, all our fish came on plastics casting up close to/around islands & submerged weed beds.  Absolutely no love on swimbaits/flash of any kind, really weird.  Slow moving plastics only, mostly darker color worms, lizards & jig/pigs.  Went through 2 batteries fighting the wind, but couldn’t complain with 42 total fish – lots of chunky 3’s, 8 or so 4’s, and 1 over five.  Lots of work but lots of reward – great pre-front, new moon conditions & beautiful water.
