Three of us hit the lake about 8:45 am last Friday.  We had clouds early so we started off with top water plugs near the shoreline grass and pads.  We started catching fish right away.  No big ones but lots of 1-2# fun fish.

By 10:00 the sun popped out bright and the topwater bite ceased.  We switched to weightless Flukes and kept catching them.  Some of these fish were a little larger with probably a 2# average.  I had a reservation at the restaurant for 11:45 so we tied the boat to the dock and walked up the hill.  This is one of the benefits to fishing Rough Creek.  The food is Awesome!

About 1:00 pm we went back out and continued with the soft plastics.  I had rigged up my customer with a lightly weighted Carolina rig for deeper water.  He hooked a really good fish just a long cast off the dock in the creek channel.  He fought the fish to the boat and we landed it.  It was a beauty.  She went 6 pounds on my digital scale and looked like she was about to burst!

He had to leave at 2:30 so our time after lunch was limited but we still ended the day with approximately 25 bass.  We had two more in the 5# class as well.  The fish are in great shape and fat as can be.
