Mike and I fished Saturday afternoon.  Water temperature was 59 degrees, water clarity 3’ to 4’.  Was a very windy afternoon.  Lake level was up maybe 3’ or a little more from the last time we were here.  With the higher water level, we were able to get in the back parts of the lake for the first time.  We caught 29.  Mike had the two biggest at 7 ¼  & 6 ½.  My two biggest were 5 ¾  & 5 ½.   Our bag of 5 was 30.5 lbs.  We caught 5 more that were 5 to 5 ½ pounds.  No dinks.  All the fish were very fat and healthy.  We did see a couple on beds,  A big spinner bait and a Texas rigged fluke were the two best lures.  We caught them on the flats in the main part of the lake in 3’ to 6’ of water, in the creek cannels and back in the timber on the upper part of the lake.  A huge lake that took us a while to figure out where they were.  The road from the last gate to the ram has 3 or 4 berms on it that had water on the top side and made the road muddy.  Coming back out pulling a boat was a bit challenging.  Was a great afternoon of fishing and this is a terrific property that Mike and I really like fishing.
