Have fished Moonshine several times before (it such a great lake) but it was always thick with huge lily pads.
Imagine my surprise when I showed up and they were all gone. There are coves and creek channels all around the lake and I had no idea because there were sections of the lake that had 100 yards of lily pads around the edge.
Anyways, I normally take 2 laps around and head home. This time I couldn’t even get all the way around from sun up to 2:00.
Caught fish all over the shoreline (didn’t fish any of the timber in the middle) using shad colored swimbaits with and without an underspin. Biggest was 4.7 pounds. All fish are healthy and beautiful.

It's amazing how much 5-7 foot deep water there is in Moonshine that has typically been buried in pads. Different ballgame.
