Property Name : Acker Lake
Reservation Date : 03/15/2025 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 31 total LMB. (1) 4.68 lb, many 2lb-2.75lb, several dinks
Lures Used : Strike King shallow crank craw color took the big one. Tx Rigged green-white Yum Dinger worm was the ticket, spinnerbait craw color worked too.
2nd trip to Acker for son and I. 1st trip was mid-december. I knew forecast was not ideal, front blew in low 60s, 10-15mph north winds, cloudy.
We took a really nice fish 25 min to fishing, 4.68 lbs off Strike King shallow crank craw color. Was very slow thereafter, taking a few here and there. Broke for lunch, grilled hot dogs, had 11 bass by 1pm. Devised plan to throw Tx rigged Yum dinger. Caught 20 in next few hours, was very fun. The creek channel opening as it narrowed to the back east wooded area was very productive. Son lost a really nice fish, estimate 4+. I lost another similar sized.
2nd trip, both cold and windy but still awesome with good #s .
Looking forward to going again in 2-3 weeks. We didn’t catch any fish on the southern half at all, but intentionally didnt spend whole lot of time either.
***Update. We noticed 3-4 large otters present. Saw first one on main lake and then as we made way to the north end at least 3. Large 12’ x12 ‘ high sandy mounds and huge holes as if they lived there. Included a photo from a video we took.
I ddint think anything about it, but read another report today from someone mentioning otters are very efficient at eating large bass? I’ll add I have no clue what the difference is between and Otter, or a beaver.
I sure hope this isnt the case on Acker

Good outing for the two of you. When you mix in 4&3 lbers with an average of a few per hour, it makes for a great day.
