Scott and Cole warned me the backside was low and I should rebook elsewhere, but I needed to see for myself.I checked the rainfall total since October and it is actually above 22and 23 as well as the five-year average up to the same point in time so I went ahead and took the journey. Was my 18th trip out there and I am super sad and devastated At what I encountered. Water line is currently at the existing drain pipe and is 12 to 15 foot Below pool, maybe 8  acres of water remaining of previous 55 acre full level. I don't know the facts, but by the looks of it, I would say there's been a failure of the drain gate valve. Didn't get the boat on the water, obviously so not sure how much depth is remaining. It looked to be very shallow around the remaining shoreline. Fish were jumping But I'm pretty sure this thing is gonna be dried up as we get into the later spring early summer If they don't get some good rain soon, and the problem hasnt been fixed. This was a fantastic fishery and his provided me and my boys tons of enjoyment and several trips with 20 to 30 day bass and my youngest sons PB of 9.8. I really hope they get a fix and can get some rainfall. Maybe several big rains keep this thing on my support a while. Maybe that will salvage some fish, but I would say at this point it's gonna have to have several years to rebuild back.

Man, that is brutally low and there has to be an issue like you suggest, other lakes in the area are much more full.  Thank you for the pics, it confirms our fears.  I have closed the lake down for now, very sad to do it.  Hopefully we can get a fix for the root issue and get some rain to fill it back up, fingers crossed.

I was there end of November and it was full. Noticed work was being done below on the backside of the dam as I saw track prints of heavy equipment. Wonder what is going on. Love that lake

Thanks for the insight John.  We have confirmed that there was work done on the dam and that work resulted in much of the lake being drained.  That work should be completed soon and hopefully we will get some big rains rest of spring to help fill it up.  Will keep everyone posted when we can turn it back on for our members.
