Waco Creek Ranch was first class trip all around.  We stayed at the lodge the night before and got a great night sleep, definitely recommend.  Boat was ready and both trolling motors worked like a champ.  Fair amount of wind, and plenty of juice/battery that lasted the whole trip.  We circled the whole lake with Choppos/Whopper Ploppers and did well.  Took about 2 hours and caught a dozen or so with several misses.  Pretty shallow in the back of south arm, but the entire lake’s shoreline was clear/fishable.  As the water warmed up with the sun, the action really picked up, we refocused on the main section and north arm with worms (mostly 10” power worms, blue and purple).  I was drop shotting and my son had weightless Texas rig.  Both did well so we never switched to what the other guy was doing.  Went back to top water once the wind created a nice ripple and slayed them.  Biggest fish was 5.8, 3 others over 5, and had to be 15 or so in the 4s.  Memory of a lifetime for my son and I.  Saw tons of wildlife.  Special day.
