Myself, a new PWF member and a guest fished Acker Lake all day. Morning winds were calm with the first and largest bass of the day caught in the timber on a TXR worm (5.5 lbs).
A slew of smaller bass were caught until around 10:00 a.m. when the winds began to pick up. Fishing in kayaks in the timber bacame difficult if not impossible due to being blown around and not able to hold a spot.
As a result, we fished the open water with minimal success with a few culls caught in the heavy winds.
Around 6:00 p.m. the winds began to lay and the fishing improved with numerous healthy 2 and 3 pounders being caught .
With the exception of fishing in the high winds during the late norning and afternoon it was overall a good day. Lake is full allowing access to more fishing spots in the timber on the North side of the lake. Water was extremely clear. Some moss and grass beginning to show but overall not significant to limit fishing.
Great lake with an abundance of strong fighting fish. The bites were very aggressive with few missed fish. This included catching some nice fish on top water in the evening.
The PWF jonboat on site looks to be in good shape.
Looking to come back soon to this great property – Hopefully when the Spring time winds are not blowing so strong...

Great well detailed report, we will be there Saturday. I ordered a device that grips onto timber, and has rope attached. Having been there before, the plan is to use the device to hold our pelican 10 footer in place at times, rather than fight the trolling motor. This dad runs the trolling motor, unhooks fish, retrieves snags, and then attempts to fish himself with 1 sometimes 2 boys on board! “Kayak Brush Gripper”; The anchor clamp for easy anytime docking. $14.99 on amazon check it out, will really help you guys on the next windy day!
Tight lines~
