I had a few hours to spare this morning, so I booked a trip to JerMar. I have not had much luck at this property in my past attempts, but I know every trip can be different depending on multiple factors. It is the closest to my house, so I figured it would be a worthwhile way to spend the morning.

I am a junk/power fisherman by nature, especially with limited time. I started by trying to cover water with reaction baits without so much as a bite. When I started slowing down and targeting the bottom in deeper water with various soft plastics, I found a few fish. I chose not to use the boat with the wind today.

I caught fish on Texas, Carolina and wacky rigs. The water was clearer than I expected, but I had brought colors for turbid water as I had seen here in the past. They bit both black/blue and junebug options. 
All of the fish were healthy looking, some likely full of eggs. The only fish I weighed was 3.44lbs at 18.5”. I believe that is a good relative weight.

I spoke briefly with the owner. He said they have had some issues with otters, which he is working to solve.
