Reservation Number : 42533
Property Name : Tara Lake
Reservation Date : 03/03/2025 PM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 8 up to 6-4
Lures Used : Slow plastics

Decided to do ½ day at Tara, glad I did. On water right at Noon. Fish feeding and males are getting ready to nest. Water 55-56. No dinks!  Comarrants on water when I got there, They left quickly.
First fish probably 2 1/2

second fish (lb-oz) 5-2!

two casts later third fish 6-4!!!!!!

4th fish 3-11.
These fish came 12:30 to 1:30 3-4 ft water

rest of afternoon was sporadic  got another 2 1/2er

Got a 5-0 and a 5-6 and wrapped up another 2 1/2er

I had my line broke from a big fish (didn't keep check o  line for retie), must have been another 6+, dang it  and couldn't hook a fish I know was over 5

Dinkerdoo’s started biting last hour (tick, tick, run, short strike). They were right on the shoreline

All fish above 3-5ft water

There is a house built on top of the hill overlooking g the lake now, 70% completed  Lots of trees removed around launch area  lots of work on the dam too, lees places for snakes to hide (and this lake gets pretty snakey)

Lake is in the best shape I have ever seen it  There may be some grass trying to start to grow in shallow areas   Water visibility a clear 18” and green .  BTW  it is full, barely running over drain

an absolute blast of an afternoon  Thank you PWF and Landowner !  Tara is one of my favorite lakes!

You picked the right day to go

the wind today would have blown the water right out of the lake.

It's been awhile since a good report came from Tara, nice to see it's making a strong comeback..

Awesome day brother, thanks for the report

I was having coffee at 5:30am this morning thunking “I could be sitting in the truck doing this, waiting for hell to pass”. On Sunday before I made the reservation I told myself Monday gonna be the day the fishing would be really good, a second front was coming overnight Monday/Tuesday that was (and did) rock n roll.

Sounds like a great day! Where do you reccomend fishing while on that lake? Thinking about heading out there soon to try out the lake for the first time.

East side to west side of the dam. Be sure to note the no fishing area on club diagram. In east side find the gnarely tree lying over in 2-3’ water and go south from there.
