Reservation Number : 42391
Property Name : The Bluffs of Sandy Shores
Reservation Date : 02/27/2025 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 7 Bass up to 4lbs.
Lures Used : Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits and Generals

My wife and I hit the bluffs yesterday, we fished from around 11am to just shy of 4:30pm.  It was one of our toughest days out there.  We did a lot of looking.  We only caught 7 Bass up ot 4lbs. between the two of us, caught on Spinnerbaits (3), Chatterbaits (1) an Generals (3).  The wind was blowing pretty good and the Bass seemed scattered.  We couldn’t locate any schools or wolfpacks, which I had hoped to see.  All of our catches came arouond the various islands in the afternoon.  North facing sides of those islands are where the bites came from, in 3 to 5 feet of water, again with wind gusts up to the high teens and waves slapping hard against those banks.  We each had a couple of Bass on that shook off at boatside and missed a few other bites.  Our catch could’ve easily been 12 to 15 fish.  That would’ve been better but still way off from the normal outing here for us. Lake is in good condition.  The highest water I’ve seen.  Super easy launch with my boat, which is right at 21’.  We’ll be back next month.

Jim,

No probelm, I don’t mind sharing info. The spinnerbait was a Milox Short Arm Spinnerbait in White/Chartruese – I love that bait.  It’s super compact and comes through grass great.  It’s great for slow roling over vegation and soft structure.  I use it a lot this time of year.

The Chatterbait was a ZMan Big Blade Chatterbait in Chartruese/white, ½oz.  Strike King Menace Trailer in Silver Belly.

The Generals were Berkley MaxScent 5” Watermelon Copper/Oragne with Red Flake (my wife’s favorite color, and I have to say I’ve seen her catch fish at every club lake we go to plus the big lakes.  Some days she just hammers them on it.)

Good luck to you!

Awesome Jeff!  Thanks for the specific details!  Be on a look out for my outing.  I'm watching the weather (wind) closely.  Anything over 15mph makes it tough.
