Reservation Number : 42436
Property Name : Hat and Star Ranch
Reservation Date : 02/25/2025 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 5 lmb, 7.9, 7.7, 3.9, plus a couple just over the minimum
Lures Used : Blade bait, square bill, jerk bait, swim bait, lizard

Arrived around 9 with fellow PWF member Larry Blanchard to blue bird skies with a light breeze. Water temp was 49 and later rose to 56. Air temp was from 58 to 75 when we left around 4. Only had 5 in the boat with a couple of other strikes. Larry boated a couple of small ones, one on a blade bait in the morning and another on a square bill in the afternoon. His best fish was 3.9 on a square bill close to shore after water had warmed some just after lunch. I only had two bites. They both were in the morning and on a blade bait close to the dam. The first was 7.9 and a little later I pulled out a 7.7. A total of 15# on two bites, let's just say I would take that.  Love this place for BIG fish, even without lots of bites.  And thanks to Larry for being my new official photographer. Couldn't have done it without him.

Awesome fish!  I will be there for my second visit on March 23rd and hope to duplicate your success. Nice to see there are some big ones that aren’t buried deep in the timber!

Good for you Jimmy, those are two beautiful fish and congrats on your promotion from “Larry’s cameraman” for this trip at least!  Nice job with the pics Larry.
