I fished Shady Grove from 8:30am – 1pm and enjoyed the false spring weather conditions.  I caught 50 +/- LMB, with typical size at 13-16 inches, with a few in the 10-12 inch range, and about 35 on the chatterbait and 15 on the whopper plopper.  I parked at the spot indicated on the directions and caught most of the fish from pond #2, SW corner, on a chatterbait.  I caught a few LMB from pond #1, though the LMB were of the larger size range.  I also caught a few from pond #3 but these were mostly smaller size.  Pond #4 were typical size and all were caught in the SW corner on a whopper plopper.  Water level is high in all ponds.  Lotus are obviously dormant but many of the pads, albeit dead and brown, are intact and submerged.  Majority of the fish were caught in the lotus fields and seemed to be relating to the submerged pads.  Pond #5 held about 30-40 ducks and Pond #6 had about 100 – 125 ducks, however, all or at least a substantial majority of ducks were ringnecks.   Like many hunters in the South OK/ North TX area of the central flyway, I had a disappointing duck season and am still trying to recover from end of season. I cast the whopper plopper at the ducks on Pond #6 but, similar to my hunting season success, I missed.
