First time on Long Lake although I've been to most of the other lakes on this property. Having started fishing LMB regularly only a year ago, I tend to struggle on these quarry lakes without electronics to locate sub-surface structure but find the challenge is fun. Starting around 10AM, I worked my way around perimeter, clockwise from launch, rotating through lures. Not a lot of action and only a couple nibbles on T-Rig. Nothing on top water or lightly weighted shad despite shad busting like crazy on far side of lake around the timber. While the chatterbait and 0-6’ lipless and square bills didn't work, the deeper diving, 10' lipless crankbaits did. That's what caught all four fish, ranging 2 to nearly 7 pounds. The pig in the photos (23.25-ish/6.9 lbs.) was caught on the dam end around 3PM. Needless to say, that made the day. Personal Best & Jazzed about it!
A couple of notes on the boat at this lake—there are three, the club boat is the smallest, probably the smallest I've fished in the club. I’m big (6’8”/235) and tend to stand a bunch while I fish. That made things interesting, especially when weighing and measuring. I'd think it would be pretty tight for two larger guys to fish in this boat. I mention this because I frequently fish with my 12-year son. I think we’d be too cramped so I'd opt for one of the other lakes at this property as they're all quite nice. Maybe someone else with experience at Long will weigh-in. Second note: the plywood on the transom is thin and giving out. That makes it difficult to mount your trolling motor solidly. Maybe somebody has the skill/ability to address this?

Congrats on the PB! I need to get out to Long Lake this year. Sometimes you got to put the puzzle together to see what they want.
