Spent 3 ½ hours at Tara Sunday afternoon (Noon – 3:30). Water was 51 degrees, Wind 10mph, Sunny / 77 degrees . Tried the normal spots after we struck out in the deeper water. Nothing, but my son and I had a good time enjoying the sunshine anyways.

The property was in the best shape I’ve seen it. Lake is completely full. They’ve cleared some trees, mowed down the tall grass and brush to give a nice lake view to the new house being built on the hill.

Sometimes when a lake that is really low gets an influx of water fairly suddenly (last 2 big rains in that area) it. An deplete oxygen levels. Might not kill fish but they tend to just stay out until Mother Nature corrects itself. They could have also been right against the shoreline, might have been enjoying the recent warm sunshine, lol.

We could see them on the finder at 10 ½ ft. You’re probably spot on with the lower oxygen levels. I know this lake was pretty low until recently. I did try the back shoreline thinking the same as you, that they might just want some sunshine. We will be back when the water warms up a bit more. It’s a great lake and pretty conveinent to my location.

It is a Great Lake. After it settles from the rain fishing will pick up. One of the few lakes that when fresh water comes in it helps the water be a little clearer by a little bit. Normally 6-12” vis, may make it 18” vis. 45 minutes away from me.
