Knew it would be a tough day fishing based on weather. Post-front rain and high of 58. Usually clear water was stained from runoff resulting in less than 12” visibility. Fished Little A for 4 hours without a single bite. Used electronics to hit all the structure with the usual suspects for this kind of day: deep diving crankbait, jigs, creature baits, shakey head, and drop shot. Decided to give Wild Card a try before leaving and caught 5 from the shore by the boat launch. Funny thing is it was on a swimbait with a flashy swimmer. Honestly, I had given up after using all the techniques listed above with no success and resigned myself to just casting with my favorite bait for fun. Shocked to catch something, but glad to avoid being skunked! After the rain cleared up, it was a beautiful day and I was happy to be out of the office enjoying some solitude. Met Eric on the way in. Nice guy and appreciate the friendly landowners we have in PWF.
