We got on the water at East Lake in Henderson around 10:00 am. First off. . this property is GORGEOUS!! The weather was cloudy with a some wind. Temps in the 50’s. . but only when the sun was out. At any rate. . We thru everything we had but only caught 6 fish. We culled one. But enough about that. . The only thing we could catch anything on was the Dark Sleeper. My first ten minutes on the water I was just tossing it around trying to figure out where I needed to go. I tossed up in to the corner by the dam and three casts later thought I was hung up. . luckily I kept the line tight . and then my line started moving. . ever so slowly to the right. . until it wasn’t moving ever so slowly anymore. My gut told me she was gonna be a big one but my gut is often wrong. She would come up to the top but all I saw were swirls. . BIG ONES!! I finally got a peek at her head and that’s when I got the shakes. After what felt like a lifetime of trying to wear her out, I finally got her close enough to get her in the net. . . . and much to my dismay. . SHE DID NOT FIT!! Half her back end was hanging out and I couldn’t lift her up! I said 1000 prayers and tumped her back out. She mustered up a little more attitude and pulled away! I finally got her reeled in enough to get her close enough to grab with my right hand. Of course I didn’t have my scale. . but girlfriend had not missed many meals. . I’m pretty sure her and I are related. We caught two more that were HEALTHY and that was the end of that. We finally left when the rain set in around 3:00 pm. I can’t wait to come back to this lake in the spring. MANY MANY thanks to the landowners. . this place is a GEM!!

Congratulations Jenny, that is a beautiful fish, very big! Great story telling, felt like I was there watching and the pic sums up the excitement perfectly. Hopefully you will catch another one like that when you go back and take your scale!
