sept. 29-30,

rained all day saturday, I mean all day ,tried to fish in the rain a couple of different times just too much rain. I’ll have to rethink my rain gear. still caught fish though. then sunday came with the wind. for some reason the weather shut the bite down. all in all all caught around fifty which is slow for san saba. three were in the five range or just a little over several in the 3-4 lb range harvested 16. maybe next time!

Paul,

This post is a testament to the greatness of San Saba. When you catch 50 fish with 3 fish over 5 lbs and a few other kickers and you feel like it was slow. I guess it was slow compared to the Spring when Larry, Paul’s fishing partner caught 1 fish over 9 lbs and a second fish over 8 lbs.

FYI, I have been fishing all my life and have caught well over 100 fish over 7 lbs, but less than 20 over 8 lbs. To me, when you start catching fish over 8 lbs you are talking about a whole different class of fish.
