Just wanted to post this to update Alysha Ranch for 12/29/2024. Crazy how west Texas ponds were 3-5’ low for my past 3 PWF visits, however driving east it wasn’t for Alysha Ranch. I saw a lot of flooding this way on many pastures and creeks. The drive into the ranch was full of puddles and the pasture was littered with thousands of cattle hoofs from the soil being extremely saturated. Once I got off the gravel drive, the grass path to the lake was definitely too wet and muddy. From prior visits even with some rain, the grass was still solid to drive to the lake. Not this time, I bogged down immediately almost getting stuck. I had to go forward to turn around and get some speed to make it back up on the gravel road. It’s probably a 100 yds to the lake. I walked to the lake to check it out seeing that the water was really milky. Spoked to the lady living at the home at the lake. She told me the duck hunters from the day before got their truck stuck going to the duck blind. After thinking about it, I decided it would probably be better the next time. I will wait for year 2025 to venture back out and possibly get my daughter her PB!
