It was the milky way per title, haha, maybe 3" water clarity. Fished from 1-5. Weather was breezy mostly with water level down at least 3' and water temp at 51. I grinded throughout the day catching 12 bass and 1 crappie.  All bass were 15"+ and chunky except for 1 dink. They were hard fighters. They were caught tight to structure. Driving out there was a little nerve wrecking towing a 15' boat & trailer in a couple of rocky spots(but no problem), but in all, it was an enjoyable drive. Great new gate installed per previous posts was awesome considering it was such a hassle before. This Lake is still one of my favorites!

Nice job in the Nestle’s!  That gate is great.  That big rain out there a couple months ago not only filled up that lake but washed that mountain pass pretty good. Still doable- for now. Glad to see pics. I may go there Tuesday. Less rain than close to my house, then again I may go to Pecan Gap.

John, i was trying to go before the rain comes this week. Backside can be very tough when there's no clarity. I only had 4 hours to figure them out this go around. I have another plan next time I get out there. With it being down, i was concerned with backing my whole truck beyond the shoreline edge. I'm grateful the lake's bottom was hard. Nows the time to catch a pig.

That is a hard bottom at the launch. Earlier this year when lake was low I had that Santa Fe front end well past that ledge. With the lake full last month my trailer had no problem. Vis was about an inch. It was chocolate milk. Fish were not tight to cover as I flipped most of those bushes and slow fished the rock n boulders. Only fish I got must have been sitting there while my chatter bait hit them in the head. Going to Gap Tuesday (stay close to the house). Probably be March when I get back to Backside. Love that lake. Can not beat the scenery and rawness of that place.
