Reservation Number : 41766
Property Name : JerMar Lake
Reservation Date : 12/03/2024 PM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 10, small to 2+ lbs
Lures Used : soft plastics, jig

I was greeted by the landowner, open gate, very nice.

Take care if you have a trailer, the water is low and the launch ramp won’t be long enough for anything other than getting close to the edge then hand launch.I was able to back up to the edge and launch with my small 10 foot boat, and get it back on by hand, no problem.

Afternoon trip, sunny, not all that cold (60s?), water temp 50.

I was convinced being in December that the fish would be deep, so I fished deep for 2.5 hours, and did catch some, the largest being just under 3 lbs.  I then fished structure/brush and weedlines like a normal summer day, and caught fish spread out around the lake...they were not too worried about the cold apparently.  I culled 5, released 5, only fished 12 to 4:30 or so, a great winter day on a great lake.

Fish go where food is and just like us may enjoy a ray of sunshine to warm up a little. Not unusual to get a fish in 5’ or less of sun out. Just fish your lures sloooooowwww.

I have not yet caught many bigger fish here, probbaly 3ish is the biggest here?  Maybe one four, I’d have to check, but generally no.

I love that you can catch fish on topwater at this lake, often all day long, it’s a great place to practice topwater/frogs.   I’ve also caught fish nonstop here before during schooling behavior on colder days (windy, cloudy, rainy), where it was nearly every cast.  Lots of fun (not many dinks, but also not many larger fish).

It’s also very close to the home base.

Agreed Ray, numbers are solid and some really healthy fish.  We are looking forward to water level coming up 2 feet and fishing the spring!

Hello Christopher,

I thought you might like to see the 8.5 lb. that I caught at JerMar.  This was from several years ago, but I still feel there are some big girls in there.  I caught it on the brushpile that is northeast of the dock.  Glad you’re a member of PWF.  I have been a member for 11 years and knew nothing about bass fishing when I started.  The fish still make me feel like I know nothing at times, but this club has been a blast.  Merry Christmas.
