After striking out at Culpepper farms earlier in the morning, my uncle and I decided to fish Flying J for a half day PM trip. The lake is down a little bit but no issues launching. Got bit right away and had steady action the entire four hours we were there. Most of our catches came from the sticks ups out in the middle of the lake on a chartreuse and white spinnerbait. Caught about 30-40 (lost count) between the both of us. All of the fish looked identical though around the 1-1.5lb range. This would be a great place to take a kid as the lake has consistent steady action.
One thing to note, there is something big living in this lake. We saw several large fish, 20”+ swimming up in the shallows but we couldn’t ever get close enough to see what they were or get them to bite. Our guess is that they were catfish but who knows!!

There may be grass carp in there. Also last report that caught that big fish said it was up really shallow
