Cordo is a great lake with a big stretch of shallow, some natural bank that borders deep water, and is easy to access (see other reports for more details).

Very dry access, rock launch (don’t step off the rocks the mud is deep!).  Easy to fish, little vegetation, with good timber in the middle and laydowns along one bank, reeds on another.  I started with a swimbait but switched to a shakey head about 1/3 of the way through.  I caught fish all over, but mostly along the far bank (with laydowns) and the nearby shallow area, and some near the timber in the middle.

I booked a half day, fished about 4 hours, and caught 27 fish, with 7 released.  I ended up running out of cooler space for the culls (some were just under 15”) right at the end.  I think I’ll use the larger cooler with 2x ice next time for this lake.  Fish ranged from very small to jut over 15”, no big fish but not all small either, overall a great trip.

The area with the big reeds is a shallow flat, and I could see some nice sized bass cruising (not biting), but I also caught fish on the flat so some were feeding.

Bite was pretty steady throughout the day, but seemed to pick up around 11am.

Another great trip to Cordo.
