The fish are very active along the lake's edge right now, roaming the channels but only showing interest in small shad presentations. After covering the whole lake, I found most of the fish schooled up on the south side, heavily feeding on shad. It was a bit of a waiting game, but once they came through, the shad activity pointed out exactly where to cast, and you just had to be ready to reel them in. Unfortunately, some boat issues forced me to call it a day by 1:30 pm, but I have a feeling this could’ve been a day for the books!

On a side note, I found some fish on the north end of the lake near a small kayak float. They seemed to be holding on brush piles along a steep slope. This spot produced my biggest fish of the day—a little over 2 pounds on a crappie jig.

11/11/24 – Water clarity is clear with visibility easily 4-5 feet down. 68-degree water temps.
