Due to hunting season this was an afternoon trip.  Weeds seemed more prominent than a few weeks ago, but you can still get through them with boat and lure to fish.  Check last harvest report for details on the location.  This trip was a slower bite especially around noon to 3.   There are  a lot of baby bass and I only caught them beacuse I put on a ned rig since nothing else was working and I figured I could cull some.  They were catchable basically every cast.  Working my way around the lake I caught some decent fish on swimbait on either side of the lake, above the weeds (sometimes near bank, sometimes out in the weed line edges).  I missed at least one good fish.  The fish that were over slot were not as big as last time, but they were fat for their size.  I could see big bass cruising, but they weren’t interested in lures.  Overall a productive trip.   Lots of interesting areas to cover on that lake, a full 6 hours and I feel I barely covered it.  I stayed until dusk, hoping the bite picked up, it did a little but it didn’t really turn on, but the nicer fish were closer to dusk.  Weedless is still the focus to fish this lake.
