Reservation Number : 41371
Property Name : China Lake
Reservation Date : 10/27/2024 AM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 46 6" to 2 1/4 lbs
Lures Used : fluke, wacky ,yum dinger & tx rig

Fished by myself in a kayak Sunday morning. The weather was ideal with light winds, cloud cover the entire morning and pleasant temps.Lake conditions are difficult to report as to the the water level was so I looked at the report submitted Oct 22 and will repeat that. Lake down 4 ft and visibility 4 ft. Vegetation was not been an issue in this lake so you can fish anything. My prior trip was July 19 when the lake was still full and when I went back to those same areas they were too shallow to hold anything but smaller fish.

Caught 46 bass with the largest 2 ¼ lbs and 24 removed that were under 14”.I used tx rig, wacky, weightless yum dingers, under spin and tube baits.Did not take any crank baits. The best colors were pump/chart,wat/seed,wat/red and red shad. Everything caught fish except blue fleck wacky.

The dam and the trees produced the best fish but I ran out of time before fishing the trees the way I wanted. Without a depth finder it takes a long time,if ever, to locate non vislble holding areas.

China ought to be putting out some bigger fish like Moonshine n Acker. I know they are there. I did manage 1 fish just under 5lb on the 22nd at end of day. It may be the dinkerdoo’s are more aggressive to get to the baits before the better fish. More culling!

Agreed, John. On both the culling and the thought that there are big fish in there.
