Reservation Number : 41322
Property Name : Backside of the Moon Lake
Reservation Date : 10/26/2024 AM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 21 lmb - 1.5 to 3.0 lbs
Lures Used : Plastic worms - Texas Rigged

We caught 21 LMB in the AM. All with Texas rigged worms. All colors and styles seemed to work. We started at sun up but there was no topwater bite. Caught several up on the north end by the hosue and dock. We had the most luck in the larger rock areas between 5 & 10 feet out. The trees were starting to turn colors and it was beautiful day on this lake.

One more thing to add. If you’ve been to this lake, you’re familiar with the rustic barbed wire gate that you go through just before you get to the lake. That has been replaced with a very nice steel gate that is wider and easy to open and close. A big improvement.

That gate was a pain in the bass. Gonna go out there before years end. How was the water level?

Hey John, the lake was a little low but it didn't affect accessing any part of the lake. Up on the north end it gets pretty shallow (1-2 feet) but near the house and dock it was 3-4 feet. We had plenty of good action along the rock points and off shore boulders. The road was in as good of shape a wagon trail can be. ๐Ÿ˜€ The new gate is a huge improvement.

I had a Sante Fe front wheel drive that made the road, barely. Got a truck now and anxious to go back to Backside. It is a good lake with good fish.

John,

We had member Shane Beck who spent two days trimming branches all the way down the road/path. Much better now. Big shout out to Shane for helping!!!
