An old friend and I were looking to get away for a couple of days. I spoke with Cole on some options for what we were looking to accomplish. He suggested Acker, and I am glad we chose it.
We arrived and launched the boat around 1:00 on Wednesday. We fished until 5:00, catching 30 in that window. Everything was near the tree lines on crankbaits and chatterbaits in white and white/chart.

We stayed the night at the lodge and fished Thursday from 8:00-3:30, catching 43. The pattern was the same. Most came in the first half of the day. I even had catches on 4 casts in a row at one point. The wind became heavy and slowed the bite. In order to fish without getting blown into trees, we would tie onto a tree here & there for a series of casts to work the area.
The fish all appeared healthy and were very strong for their size.  Of the 73 landed, we returned 26 over 14”. A few were around 3lbs, with two right at 4lbs. We did try a few other techniques, but that squarebill/bladed jig bite was the most consistent.
For anyone planning to launch a boat, the ramp has a very gradual slope. This requires the vehicle to go into the water, perhaps farther than usual. It could probably use a fresh layer of rock, as some spots are a little tricky with the mud. I am sure the owners will keep it improved. Obviously 4WD allows more confidence. We didn't have any issue with my truck and 19’ boat, but I wanted to note it here for anyone considering this beautiful property in the near future.

By the way, it doesn't take as long to reach good catch numbers if you just try catching 2 bass per cast.
