Clear sunny day 50 low 82 high
Lake Level 3 ft low
water Temp 61 to 68
wind A.M. 0 P.M.10mph.
Hit the water 15 minutes before sunrise
no wind, lake was like glass.
I started with A top water frog in the
Lilly pads and was busy pulling in a healthy
3lb when I heard John Hollering from across
the lake, turns out John landed the biggest fish on his first catch on our 2 day trip
8lbs 9oz (See Photos)
She was a big belly fat healthy beautiful
Hawg..
when you boat a monster like that on the first catch of the day that's going to be hard to beat.
Continued getting a good bite on the edge
of the timber and Lilly pads in 4 to 8 feet depths.
Late in the afternoon I landed another
3lb and when I went to remove the hook
this fish was apparently collecting hooks and worms as a hobby, I've never seen anything like this.
(See Photos)
I found 4 worms 3 of them the same color
senko and a 8 inch ribbon tail worm
plus 4 hooks with line from where he broke them off. judging from the condition of the
hooks and worms he had had them awhile.
I removed everything and made sure he was clear of all his treasures and sent him on his way.
John and I enjoyed the day and all it had to offer and will return to The Moonshine
soon.
We reserved the lodge for 2 nights
and when we got back to the lodge
PWF Member Steve Scanlon Met us there
with a steak and potatoes dinner at the end of a great day.
the 3 of us are storming the beaches
of China Lake In The Morning.
More to come.
Tight Lines Ya"ll.
John and I met the owner Steve Coby and his wife and spoke with them for awhile, very friendly good people
enjoyed visiting with them
