Morning started off pretty rough!  Apparently i forgot to set my alarm and we didn't wake up till 8, instead of the normal 5:30-6 ๐Ÿ™ƒ.   Luckily, if you stay at the Holiday inn express off 45,  its only 8 minutes to the property gate.  When you arrive at the gate, the directions are a bit wierdly written, so drive straight up towards the house and turn left between the house and the trees and follow the path down to the lake. Once we got to the lake, we found it about 18"-2' low when looking at the grass line.  This made it a bit tough to launch my skiff, but we got it done with some elbow grease.  It was tough to get the trailer deep enough to float the boat off.  If your bringing a glass boat 16' +, you WILL want 4WD, or you will have it ROUGH. When the water level comes back up, lauching should be much easier.

We found the water pretty stained, about 8-12" of visibility and immediately started working bladed jigs along the bank. The bank slopes very gentle out to 20' from the bank where it is 4-6' deep.  We caught all our fish in 4-6' of water on bright color bladed jigs.  There are isolated patches of grass underwater around the entire lake and near those is where we found schools of 3-5 bass.  All of the bass we caught were in the 2# range, and nothing over 3# today. The big fish of the day was a 2.14.  Most of the fish looked a bit skinny, but there were a few chunkers in there!  That said, the action was steady, and we caught bass around the entire circumference of the pond. The best steady action almost directly opposite the dock. All the fish we caught fought well above thier weight class and made it quite a bit of fun for the wife and i!  If you make a visit, focus on loud moving baits and you should catch em like we did! Our total for the day was 35 fish and we only fished from 8:45 untill a few minutes after 11 since we lost half the morning to sleeping in lol

The fun began when we had to get the boat back on the rack. I readjusted the truck and was able to get the tip of the bunks into the water without getting my rear tires into the soup and powered the boat up on the rack without much issue. Getting the 10' up the hill to better ground got a bit spicy with the wet grass.  Keeping calm, not digging any ruts and some finnese on the throttle got us the 10' up to the better ground with only a few snide remarks and curse words from my better half, and one spilled soda in the truck. ๐Ÿ˜‚  Once up the hill, i realized that i had not trimmed up and that my skegg had been acting as a anchor in the first 2' of mud about 6' out from the bank lol this was a revelation my beloved bride found hilariously "Boneheaded". All and all, we had a beautiful morning catching fish on a beautiful property.  If you want a solid lake with lots of action, this would be a great one.  Just dont forget to set your alarm,  trim up, and mind any open beverages.
