Bob Scheidemann and I spent the first cool morning of the season at Post Oak.  The morning started off fast with Bob catching the big bass of the day on a topwater lure within minutes.  Then things slowed down.  We never established a pattern and never caught more than two bass in a single area.  All but one were on reaction baits (crankbait, weightless fluke, pencil popper, chatterbait) and they were scattered (1 from the ramp, 3 from the dam, 1 from the stumps, 3 near the bridge, and 1 on the flats).  Of the 9, 5 were harvested.  The lake is low, most of the vegetation is gone, the water was discolored but not muddy, and the water temp was 69-70 ( big change from the 78 of last weekend).

It was a beautiful and peaceful morning.  Some more bass excitement would have been welcome however.
