Total Fish/Sizes : 19 bass & 5 crappie
Lures Used : Moving shad imitations (swimbait, spinnerbait, lipless crank)

My son (10) & I were able to book the morning slot for a short getaway on the school holiday.  We walked around with only a few lures tied on. I wanted him throwing something that could entice a bass or crappie. (He caught both plus a large bluegill.)

Everything except the first bass was culled (and now taking up space in the freezer). That first bass was the only one on topwater and went about 16”. We bank fished, mostly from the dock and dam areas.
The wind was sporadic, but it and the cows caused the water to be turbid.
The biggest highlight today was obviously watching him land several fish, but a close second was getting to observe a bald eagle for quite a while. It made multiple dives on the water and sat majestically in a dead tree as we fished from the dock across the water. That is not something you get to see everyday, and I'm glad he was able to see his first one in the wild.
