This was my 2^nd fishig trip with my 15 year old grandson who came for a visit to go Texas bass fishing.  Friday afternoon we fished Timber Lake and he learned how to cast and fish the swim bait and he caught several bass.  This morning I thought the swim bait and frog through the lilly pads would ge great. We got to the lake about 7:45 and started to work the lilly pads south of the launch site.  Not even one hit.  Moved up the west bank with still no luck with either the swim bait or frog.  I started to catch a couple on the wacky rig and my grandson wanted to try.  After a little learning experience he started catching them.  We worked the bank and some brush piles up to the corner of the dam. By then it was almost noon and time to leave.  We ended the morning with 10 total LMB. 5 under 16” but really only a couple of small ones.  We both caught bass just under 3 lbs which was really fun for a first time bass fishing trip my grandson.  Timber Lake and Deer Trail came through with a little work, which was perfect.  We now have a new fisherman in the family.
